What's In My Make Up Bag?

Skin Base Visage - I had a sample through the post with a lipstick I purchased from MAC and it was a little sample of the MAC Prep + Prime Skin Base Visage and I absolutely love this. It's been keeping the oily skin at bay which I annoyingly get along with dry skin but this has been making my skin so soft and it's been helping keep my make up on all day. I've basically run out of this now so I definitely want to pick up the full version.

Rimmel Match Perfection & Bare Minerals Complexion Rescue - I've been going back and forth between two foundations over the last couple of months and I've been absolutely loving them. Both the Rimmel Match Perfection Foundation and the Bare Minerals Complexion Rescue have been the best two foundations for my skin over the last couple of months because my skin's been quite dry and they've both really been helping with that.

Sleek Vintage Romance Palette - Next up in my make-up bag is the Vintage Romance Palette from Sleek. I've been loving a purple smokey eye this winter and the shades from this palette are absolutely perfect for that. The shades are super pigmented and they stay on all day.

Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara - The end of last year and the beginning of this year the mascara that had become my absolute favourite is the Lash Sensational Mascara from Maybelline. It was a well hyped up mascara amongst the beauty World and it took me a while to get it because I never know whether or not they actually live up to the hype but this one definitely does. It really separates and lengthens my lashes and I love the finishing look it gives them.

Make Up Revolution Pressed Powder - My newest powder in my collection is this pressed powder from Make Up Rev and it's become the top powder I've ever tried out. I have oily skin and sometimes the shine gets taken away for about 2 hours before its back so it always ended up looking cakey but with this powder it lasts so well on my skin and it's an absolute bargain for just £2. It works so well in conjunction with the Skin Base Visage but since I've pretty much run out of that now it also works really well on its own!

Vaseline Lip Therapy - My lips have been dry lately and I never really use lip balm - terrible I know - but lately I've been obsessed with the Vaseline Pot, I love this one because it really moisturises my lips and it keeps them nice and shiny, it looks just like a lipgloss.

Sleek Contour & Highlight Kit - One thing I can't seem to do my makeup without now is contour. The one I've been using over the last couple of months is this contour & highlight kit from sleek and it's literally the best one I've tried out. The pigment from this is absolutely amazing I used way too much first time and it looked terrible and I had to really blend it out for a good while! The highlight from this is amazing as well they're both so pigmented and I'll definitely be repurchasing when it runs out.

W7 Brow Parlour* -  Another thing I can't really seem to not do whilst I do my make up is filling in my eyebrows! I've been using this palette for a while now and I've actually hit pan so I definitely need to grab a new one.

Collection Concealer - The best concealer for me is hands down the Lasting Perfection Concealer from Collection, it's the only one I've found that's actually pale enough for my skin and it covers blemishes really well so this one's always in my make up bag!

Velvet Teddy - Lastly is my all time favourite lipstick from MAC and that is none other than Velvet Teddy. I never stop going on about this one because it's literally the perfect colour for me and I'm obsessed with it. I pretty much go to this one most of the time if I'm wanting to wear a lipstick and I'm really running low so I'll have to repurchase this one too!

Easter Cookies

What You'll Need:
• 170g butter
• 250g caster sugar
• 275g self raising flour
• Dash of Milk
• One Medium Egg
• Mini Cadbury Creme Eggs
• Galaxy Caramel Eggs
• Smarties

Well that's a lot of chocolate isn't it?! Well I mean it is Easter soon though, so all the chocolate is the only way to go isn't it?! I've got some Easter Cupcakes coming up at the end of this week as well but I think this one is definitely my favourite. Cookies are always a good way to go. (Here's another Cookie recipe I did...) Cookies always go well down with my family so I wanted to make them Easter like by adding in some Cadbury Creme egg and Galaxy Caramel eggs into the cookies. I made the cookies first by mixing the sugar and the butter together until it was all combined, I then cracked in the egg and added in the flour and mixed it all together with a little bit of milk, then I added some leftover Galaxy that I had, then lastly I chopped the Easter eggs in half and pushed them into the cookies after I'd rolled them into balls and popped them onto the baking paper and I did the same with the smarties just popping them in. Next all that was left to do was pop them into the oven for 10-12 minutes and then take them out so they're gooey! They tasted so good they were gone in about 2 days. Oops.

Drugstore Lovin' - Rimmel

I decided to put together a few of my favourite products from drugstore brand Rimmel. I really like Rimmel products and the best thing from them is definitely their foundations and the fact they have them in a pale shade, that's one of things I struggle with the most from drugstore brands.. Their shade range isn't all that good at all. Rimmel is about the only brand I've found that matches my skin tone so I'm really greatful for that! Two of my favourite foundations from them are the Rimmel Match Perfection Foundation and the Rimmel Lasting Finish Foundation. The Match Perfection is perfect for the Winter if you suffer with dry skin, it really goes onto my skin well and I've been loving it recently (review here if you're interested!). Whereas the Lasting Finish foundation is perfect if you have oily skin because it's a matte finish, I really like this foundation and it actually reminds me quite a lot of the MAC Studio Fix just for half the price so this is definitely worth a go!

Next up is a their Stay Matte Powder now I'll be honest here and say I have such a love/hate relationship with this powder, sometimes it works really well sometimes it doesn't work at all. It does take the shine away but I do find myself having to top up quite too often which isn't what I'm after but I do also get along with it at the same time, it's just whether my skin is going to like it one day or not.

I'm all for wearing black liner on my waterline and tightline and their Rimmel Scandal'Eyes Liner is insane! The staying power is so good and the pigment is really good, it's an intense black shade and it really looks nice for a good smokey eye and it's waterproof which is perfect and when they say waterproof they mean it because I struggle to take this off with my Micellar Water sometimes because it stays on that well! Also review here if you're interested.

Now onto a lip gloss from them, I always go back and forth between loving lipsticks and then hating them to loving lipglosses and then hating them too but the one lip gloss I'll go too when I'm not sure what to wear or what looks nice I'll go for the Oh My Gloss Lip Gloss in the shade Purrr...Glossy Cat. Firstly how cute is the name? Secondly it's such a nice nude shade and it stays on really well, it's also really moisturising which is always a good thing! It looks perfect with a full on smokey eye or a no make up make up look, I absolutely love this one and I'll definitely have to repurchase when it runs out! (Swatch and Review here

Lastly is a Mascara and it's the Rimmel Lash Accelerator Endless Mascara. I actually haven't used this mascara in a quite a while but I might have to crack it back out because it was real good one, it made my eyelashes so much more defined and longer on the bottom and the same for the top, they looked more defined, separated and of course it gave them length as well. It was a favourite mascara of mine for a couple of months so I definitely need to get it back out.

Currently Wanting #2

Calvin Klein Bra Top - I treated myself to the Calvin Klein Briefs over Christmas because they were on sale and I couldn't resist, I'd been wanting them for SO long. I got them in grey and I already want the matching bra top I think I'll end up treating myself to this when I've lost a bit more weight and yes I probably won't wear the briefs until have the matching bra top. Such a weirdo. Also I really want the red set because it just reminds me of Christmas!!

Fujifilm Instax - I don't know how long I've wanted one of these but I STILL do. I love the look of them and I really want to add one to my collection of cameras they're so cute and old school. Argh. Need one!

Fujifilm Instax Share Printer - This is so cool. I love little Polaroid pictures and I think they'd look so cute hung up around the house and I love that you can connect it to your phone to print Polaroids off of them but it's actually pretty GENUIS! I mean you take the pictures on your phone and then you can print them off like a Polaroid rather than wasting them taking it on a Polaroid camera and them coming out really badly! (still really want one though) Only downside is the Fact the refills are expensive.

Make Up Revolution Contour Kit - I was searching about for a more cream based contour and I spotted this one from Make Up Rev and I was so surprised that it was just £8 it definitely looks like a dupe for the Anastasia Beverly Hills contour kit. Anyone tried this out?

Harry Potter Book Collection - I LOVE the Harry Potter books and yes although I do have them all already I really want the new set of covers just because it's a new set of covers that's it really.

Longchamp Backpack - I'm really getting into wearing backpacks lately because they're just so much better than wearing a shoulder bag. Especially when I take my camera out with me which is a lot of the time, it's easier carrying it on my back than in a shoulder bag. I've currently got a denim one but I'm always on the lookout for another one and I spotted this one and it is quite over the limit of what I'd normally spend on a bag I'm more of a £25 bag girl and that's that but I do really like this one and it should be good quality so maybe, just maybe I'll save for this one day.

Skinny Dip iPhone Doodle Case - I absolutely love skinny dip phone cases because they're so quirky and I love that. This one is the one that's currently on my list it looks like such a nice case for spring and summer!

Benefit Roller Lash - I'm always seeing so many good things about this mascara and I'm wanting a new one to try so I'm thinking of trying out the mini version of this first just to see if I like it!

Fitness Leggings and Vest - I'm really getting back into my workouts now and I'll definitely have to before it's Easter! I'm always on the lookout for workout gear and I'm really liking the look of these ones from New Look, they've got such a good range and they're not too expensive either.

Galaxy Caramel Brownies

With Easter just around the corner I've been baking away and I've always saw endless amounts of the Cadbury Creme Egg Brownies so I decided to change it up a bit and bake some Galaxy Caramel Brownies! These definitely went down a treat with my family...particularly with my sister actually!

To make these you'll need:

• 200g Dark Chocolate Lightly Chopped
• 175g Unsalted Butter
• 325g Caster Sugar
• 130g Plain Flour
• 3 Eggs
• Galaxy Caramel Eggs

Firstly find yourself a heatproof bowl and pop that over a bowl of simmering water and melt both the chocolate and butter together. Once fully melted, remove the bowl from the heat add in the sugar and make sure to mix well, next add in the flour and again, make sure to mix well. Lastly all you need to do is pop the eggs in and again mix that all together...there's alot of mixing for this one! All that's left to do now is to pour the mixture into a rectangle tin and pop into the oven for about 30-35 minutes, keep an eye on them and when they're mostly done say after about 25 minutes take them out and then cut the Galaxy Caramel Eggs into halves and put them into the mixture and pop them back into the oven for the remaining time, I kept an eye on them and took them out when the top looked flaky and when I thought they were done and they came out so well, the eggs didn't fully melt all over the place which was perfect and exactly what I was going for!

Maybelline Eraser Eye Concealer

Maybelline Eye Eraser Concealer, Maybelline, Maybelline Concealer, Eye Eraser Concealer,

I'd been reading/hearing so many good things about this Maybelline Eraser Eye Concealer that I decided to borrow pinch this from my sister to try out. I've never really liked many concealers and I always stuck to the Collection Lasting Perfection but I have been wanting to try out some different ones so I used this one morning and I have to say I do really like it. It's very different to the usual doe foot application for concealers as you have to twist it for the product to appear on the sponge and then pop that onto your skin. The sponge is quite soft but not a lot of product comes out so I do find myself twisting it a couple of times. I used this before my foundation and I definitely saw the redness was a lot more muted after using this than it was beforehand. However the only downfall for this one is the fact that it's very very dark for my skin tone and I have to make sure I blend it in really well and only use it under my foundation otherwise I'm left with darker patches underneath my eyes if I use it afterwards. This is in the shade light but it's far from it! It does help with redness but as I don't really suffer too much with dark under eye circles I can't really comment on if it helped a lot as to me they just looked orange because of the dark toned concealer! Overall I'm not going to lie I'm pretty glad I didn't purchase this one for myself because it's definitely way too dark for me and it does give me a bit of a complex that I'm looking orange when I've used it, if only it came in some other shades I might have a different opinion.

Rimmel Match Perfection Foundation

v=Rimmel Foundation, Rimmel Pale Skin, Rimmel Match Perfection Foundation, Rimmel Foundation Pale Skin
Rimmel Foundation, Rimmel Pale Skin, Rimmel Match Perfection Foundation, Rimmel Foundation Pale Skin

I found this Rimmel Match Perfection Foundation whilst shopping my stash a couple of weeks back (you can read that here if you'd like) and I've been using it ever since. My skin's been quite dry in the Winter and although that means no oilyness.. It still doesn't look good. At all. So I stopped using my MAC Studio Fix Foundation and picked up this one. It's actually my sisters favourite Foundation and she said it was really good for dry skin so I decided to try it out and I'm super glad I did. It's not as high coverage as my MAC Studio Fix but it's still really good coverage and the best thing is the fact is doesn't bring out the dry patches, instead it really helps my dry skin. I use it in conjunction with the Skin Base Visage and it makes my skin feel really soft and nowhere near as dry looking as when I used the MAC. The one thing that I was worried about was that it would make me go oily because it wasn't a matte finish but I had no reason to worry about that because with the help of the Skin Base Visage and my favourite Make Up Rev Powder (review here) it didn't go oily nowhere near as quick as it usually did when I used this foundation ages ago! It lasts really well on my skin and I was super glad that it didn't make me oily. I think this one may be my go to foundation for the Winter months. Oh and the best thing about it? It has it in a light enough shade to match my pale skin. So thank you Rimmel for actually doing a light enough shade for us pale people! I think Rimmel is probably the only drugstore brand that I've really found does a really good light shade so thumbs up for that.

Rice Krispie Easter Cakes

So considering we're already in March - actually can't believe it - I decided to start putting up some Easter Baking posts and I have quite a few ideas! So first up it's these little Easter Egg Rice Krispie cakes and these are the easiest things to make and definitely a must for around Easter time, every year without fail I always make a batch of these because they're so simple and they taste so good! Here's what you'll need:

• Rice Krispies
• Chocolate of your choice
• Mini Eggs
• Galaxy Golden Honeycomb Eggs
• Cake Cases

All you need to do is get yourself a massive bowl and break up your chocolate and put it in a heatproof bowl over some water on the stove and melt your chocolate, after your chocolate's melted, pour in the Rice Kripies and mix it all together, once all the Rice Krispies are covered in chocolate spoon them into some cake cases and then just add your Mini Eggs and Galaxy Golden Eggs (literally the nicest things I've ever tasted) and then pop them onto a plate and in the fridge to cool and then voila, Easter Egg nests done!

Sukin Rose Hip Day Cream

If there's one thing I suffer with in the Winter it's hands down dry skin, it's always so much worse in the Winter months so I always have to try and find a moisturiser to help take that horrible dryness away. Lately I've been using this Sukin Rose Hip Hydrating Day Cream* and I've definitely seen an improvement in my skin over the last couple of weeks, the one thing I love about this cream is the fact that it actually reminds me of a Terry's Chocolate Orange which does make you want to eat it mind but it smells so good! A little definitely goes along way with this cream and it rubs into my skin really well, once I'm putting it on, my skin feels a lot more hydrated instantly and it's like you can tell the cream is helping because it soothes the skin straight away. It also helps me wake up in the mornings as well because it's so refreshing to put on! This moisturiser retails at £19.95 but I think I need it to work ultimate miracles before I purchase this one. I'm not the one to just spend that much on something if it doesn't do amazing things. I think this would probably work a lot better in conjunction with a night cream or with their Rose Hip Oil but I'm going to continue using it and hope I see a mega good improvement in my skin before purchasing.
