Sleek Vintage Romance Palette | Review & Swatches

I did a haul from sleek a couple of months back because I really wanted to try out some more of their products having never really tried anything from them before and I picked up some of their eyeshadows palettes. I picked up the Au Naturel and this one which is the Vintage Romance palette. I'd been wanting to do a purple smokey eye but I never really had any good purple tones for it and when I saw this one it was perfect, it was definitely what I was looking for.

I'd heard so many good things about Sleek that I did have high hopes for their eyeshadow products and I can confirm that they didn't disappoint. I'm so impressed with these eyeshadow shades and the pigmentation they have, the colour pay off is so good and they also blend like an absolute dream, they're so easy to work with and you can create so many different looks from just one palette because of the shade selections included. You get 12 different shades and the names they have are really cute, I always love when brands have thought of good names to go with each shade I just think it's a nice extra touch. I bought the two palettes I mentioned on a 2 for £10 which is an absolute bargain for the quality of the eyeshadows themselves, they retail at £7.99 but I tend to just wait for either a 2 for £10 or 3 for 2 because I mean I'm all about those bargains but I would say these are worth the price they're retailed at. Such amazing quality. I was first impressed with them with their Contour Kit - that I also purchased with these - and they kept up the quality with these eyeshadow palettes. I think Sleek might have just jumped to the top of my favourite drugstore brands.

Harry Potter Colouring Book

I'll start off by saying I'm pretty obsessed with Harry Potter and I bloody love it, everytime I watch the movies it just doesn't get old! So when I saw this Harry Potter Colouring Book on Amazon I just had to pick it up, for £5  this book is such amazing quality and the drawings for you to colour are so lifelike they look just like the characters. I've been trying to get into colouring a lot more so it helps me relax and calm down a bit so obviously I was going to try and enjoy colouring by purchasing a Harry Potter colouring book. The other thing about this colouring book is the fact it has some pictures in the back part of the book of some of the colourings so you can see what colours to use and how it looks! It's so cool and the quality is amazing! I'm after the Magical Creatures book and the Magical Places and Characters ones now.

Bare Minerals Complexion Rescue | Revisited

I bought this Complexion Rescue from Bare Minerals last summer because I was looking for a light base however it didn't really go down as well as I wanted because it did In fact make me REALLY oily within about an hour which was not a good look, I didn't want to keep powdering all the time because then it'd just go all cakey and it didn't look good at all. I decided to get it back out over the Winter months because my skin was seriously badly dry so I needed something that would help it out and this one is perfect for that! It really helps with my dry skin and when putting this base on it feels really moisturising and cooling and it feels like you're only putting a moisturiser on which is so nice. I didn't think it was going to be great coverage but it's actually pretty good it's light to medium depending how much you put on and build it up but it works really well with hiding my redness and the few blemishes that I have here and there. I use this base in conjunction with the Skin Base Visage Sample that I had from MAC (literally can't stop talking about this stuff it's so good!) It helps by keeping my make up in place and allowing me to put the base on afterwards on really smooth skin. I powder with my new all time favourite powder from Make Up Revolution (review here if you're interested) and it stays in place for the majority of the day and when it does start to go oily it looks dewy rather than horribly oily which is something I can deal with. The other thing about this is the fact it's a perfect shade for my pale skin, I find it so difficult sometimes finding a pale enough shade for me but this one in the shade Opal matches my skin perfectly. I'll definitely be repurchasing this one for the Winter months again, it's definitely worth money and I'm so glad I decided to get it back out again, it's not good for me personally in the Summer but it's perfect for me in the Winter.

I Love... Smash Bars & Shower Gel

I Love products are hands down one of my favourite brands for shower and bath products, all of them smell amazing and the new ones are no let down they smell just as good if not better. They've released a new range of 7 new ice cream scents which are Coconut Ice, Lemon Meringue, Minty Choc Chip, Strawberry Cream, Mango Cheesecake, Raspberry Ripple and Chocolate Fudge Cake and it's the best smelling range in my opinion. I've got two of these scents from the range and they are the Strawberry Cream* and the Chocolate Fudge Cake*. Yes you read that right. Chocolate. Fudge. Cake. And let me tell you the Chocolate Shower Gel actually really smells like an actual chocolate fudge cake and it just deserves all the heart eye emojis. It smells SO good it makes me want to eat it but then you get the nice smelling cake without the calories.. It's basically a guilt free treat! The Strawberry Cream Shower Gel smells just like a strawberry mini milk ice cream which takes me all the way back to the good old days on holiday, so yummy but again also makes you want it eat it... Well it makes me want to eat it anyway!

They've also added 2 new products to their range and that's the Soap Smash Bar*. These are the same scents as the shower gels (Strawberry Cream and Chocolate Fudge Cake) and you can break the soap into 4 pieces that look like a giant piece of Galaxy (if only) and then you let it lather up and gently rub it over your arms and legs and it turns into a foam after doing this and washing it off my skin felt SO soft seriously these are definitely good at hydrating and keeping your skin nice and soft and the best part is they both smell amazing as soon as it turns into a foam on your skin the smell comes bursting through and it just smells SO good. Both of these are definitely worth the money and the bars last quite a while as well! These products are exclusive to Superdrug and the shower gels are retailed at £2.99 which is bargain for the amount you get and then smash bar is retailed at £5 which is also such a good price for how long it lasts and how soft my skin feels afterwards, they've never felt so soft and I'm definitely going to have repurchase these that's for sure.

P.S. They're currently 3 for 2 on Superdrug!

Mini Beauty Haul

I haven't done a beauty haul in a while because I'm trying this new thing where I only buy new make up if I REALLY need it because it got to the point where I was buying it then not even using it.. Total waste of money! So I've been a good girl actually and I was needing a new brow product to try out because mine was running low so I had a little look on the boots website and picked up a few things that I've been needing (and wanting...still counts if I'm actually going to use them though right?)

I've been wanting to try the Benefit Roller Lash Mascara for a while now but I didn't particularly want to spend £20 on just one mascara just in case I didn't get along with it so I purchased the mini version instead to try out and I'm hoping it lives up to the hype or I'll be disappointed that's for sure!

Because it's slowly getting warmer and I know I'll start getting my really oily skin back I've been meaning to try out the Stay Matte Foundation from Rimmel for months now and I went to purchase it last summer but completely forgot about it so I thought it was about time I picked that up.

Luckily it was actually a buy one get the second half price on boots so I also picked up a new brow product from Rimmel which is the Brow This Way and I'm really excited to try it out I went for the dark shade because my hair's dark and this one looked the best match.

I've been loving the Rimmel Match Perfection Foundation lately and my sister ran out of hers and it was a 2 for £10 somewhere so we picked up one each of the newer one I'm hoping this one is just as good but even better with the new added pore blurring effect.

Lastly I picked up some more Hair Pins because as much as I know I have some somewhere... you know how it is they all seem to disappear.

Make Up Revolution - Blush Now

I'll be honest here and say I'm totally not a blusher girl. Nope. I hate how it looks on my cheeks probably because my cheeks go red on there own so I suppose I'm lucky and I have a natural blush! So instead I decided to use this  Blusher in the shade Blush Now from Make Up Revolution as a base eyeshadow and it works perfectly. I put concealer on first and I really think this helps with the staying power of the blusher. It's a really light blush, it's a muted pink shade and the colour really comes off as such a nice muted subtle pink shade. I just wanted a subtle shade across the lid and I never would have thought I'd use pink on my eyelids it's the last colour I go for but after seeing some make up looks I decided to try it out for myself and I really loved the finishing look. I use this blusher and a shade from my sleek romance palette in the crease, outer and inner corners so it's slightly smokey but not too much and then I pat more of the blusher in the middle of my eyeshadow and pat a tiny bit of a silver shade from my sleek palettes in the middle just to give it a bit of a sparkle slightly and I absolutely loved how it looked. At first I thought Urmm this doesn't suit me but then when you pop your mascara on (never looks finished without mascara does it?) it looked so pretty. I never really go without black eyeliner on my lower lash line but I was finding it was looking way too dark and my eyes looked tiny so when I did this it looked really different at first but it really opened my eyes up. For £1 this is a really good eyeshadow shade and it's probably a perfect natural blush shade if you wanted to use it for blusher but it's also awesome as an eyeshadow, I've even got an orange toned blusher which I'll probably use as an eyeshadow instead for summer.

March Favourites

There's been a few things I've been loving last month and to start of it's my two current foundations the first one is the Rimmel Match Perfection Foundation, I've been absolutely loving this one for my dry skin over the last month it's been so much better for my skin than a matte finish and I always go for a matte finish but it's been nice having a more dewy one. The next foundation I've been really liking is the Bare Minerals Complexion Rescue I'll be honest and say I didn't like this at all when I first tried it last summer but it's been a saviour this winter because of my dry skin I've been going back and forth between these two but I'm already running low on the Bare Minerals so I might have repurchase that one soon! I won't say too much because I have a review of the Bare Minerals coming up and I already have a review of the Match Perfection here if you'd like a read.

I've been mostly doing a pink/purple eye look over last month to try and step away from my usual brown/gold toned smokey eye and these shades in the Sleek Romance Palette are perfect for that, they're such versatile shades and they're so easily blended, I definitely want to pick up some more Sleek palettes soon.

As I've said I was stepping out of my usual go to look and doing a pink/purple eye and the pink shade I've been using as a base is actually a blusher from Make Up Revolution in the shade Blush Now I don't particularly like wearing blush as blush because well just because I don't like it but I didn't want to waste this blusher so I picked it up and used it as an eyeshadow and I really loved the finishing look it's a soft pink shade so it's really subtle but it works perfectly as an eyeshadow base.

Last up is the little pot of Vaseline Lip Therapy. It's safe to say Winter didn't do any good things for me and I had dry lips as well and I wanted a more nude lip look anyway because I was hating every single lip product I put on so I found this in the drawer and picked this one up and I really liked how it looked, it was so moisturising and hydrating for my lips it's definitely helped me out a lot!
